BTS member V (Kim Taehyung) is once again capturing hearts—not on stage this time, but in uniform. Despite an injury, V has earned the Military Police Excellence Award during his service, proving his dedication and strength in the face of adversity.
🎯 Shooting Champion & Urban Training Top Performer
According to a heartfelt Instagram post shared by one of V's senior comrades on April 19, V scored 1st place in shooting, earning the title of “perfect marksman,” and topped winter urban combat training as well. His perseverance even while injured inspired those around him. The senior shared that “being with Taehyung-hyung was a romantic, unforgettable time.”
The letter began:
“Taehyung-hyung, I couldn't say everything I wanted to in person, so I'm writing it now to express my gratitude.”
The comrade went on to describe how V, despite dealing with injuries to his shoulder and thigh, not only competed but excelled in multiple physically demanding drills. During the final physical test, the two ran the 3km together, pushing each other forward and finishing well ahead of the “elite” time requirement. “That moment was pure romance,” he said.
🏋️♂️ Gym Equipment, Sushi, and Warmth
Beyond his achievements, V is praised for his generosity. He donated fitness equipment for fellow soldiers and often treated them to delicious food during outings, including unforgettable grilled eel sushi.
“Thanks to the equipment you donated, I was able to work out in a better environment,” wrote the senior.
“I’ll never forget the eel sushi you bought for me. It was amazing.”
Most importantly, V's consistency and passion deeply inspired his comrades. One soldier, who dreams of becoming a rehabilitation therapist, said that V's support helped him stay motivated throughout military life—balancing both fitness and study.

Other discharged soldiers echoed the sentiment, saying that V was someone who always listened, encouraged others’ dreams, and quietly stood by them through challenges. They even described him as “a problem-solver type of hyung.”

In his own message to fans, V expressed deep appreciation for the soldiers around him:
“I’m learning a lot from my fellow soldiers—junior, peers, and seniors alike. I'm experiencing many new things and receiving good energy. I'm truly thankful just to be training alongside them.”
